CONSULTATION FOR A BBL SKINTYTE TREATMENT

Each of us has different skin. BBL SkinTyte allows your provider to design a plan to fit your unique skin type, treatment area(s), and aesthetic goals. BBL SkinTyte laser technology offers a completely customizable treatment to precisely target skin laxity, one of the most prominent and visible signs of aging.

During an initial consultation for a SkinTyte laser treatment, your provider will assess your areas of concern and recommend the number of treatments needed to achieve your goals.

THE BBL SKINTYTE EXPERIENCE

During you SkinTyte appointment, your provider will identify the exact area to be treated. Your specialist will apply the device and pass over the skin a total of four times. Each of these passes delivers a gentle heat into the treatment area to promote collagen production, while simultaneously maintaining optimal temperature on the skin’s surface to keep the treatment comfortable and downtime minimal. The result is a new, stronger collagen layer that can last up to 12 months or more with continued maintenance.

BBL SKINTYTE POST-CARE

As a BBL SkinTyte patient, one can expect mild redness and swelling similar to a sunburn sensation,and tightness of skin, for a few minutes following the procedure. However, most patients apply make-up and return to normal activities immediately following treatment. BBL SkinTyte is a treatment that uses BroadBand Light (BBL) technology and delivers an advanced infra-red light to deeply heat your skin, while cooling and protecting the entire surface at the same time.

BBL SkinTyte treatments are safe for all skin colors, and they can be performed basically on any area of the body where you seek to have your skin tightened and firmed. We find the most popular areas for BBL SkinTyte to be the face, neck, abdomen, and upper arms.

The BBL SkinTyte procedure utilizes infrared energy to deeply heat dermal collagen. The BBL SkinTyte process promotes partial denaturation and contraction of collagen. The heat also initiates the body’s natural healing process, which creates a renewed collagen foundation leading to increased skin firmness.

BBL SkinTyte is NOT a one-and-done treatment. For real results, you need to start with a package of 4 BBL treatments and maintain your results by getting BBL at least twice per year. For the best results, we recommend one treatment every 3 months.

The length of time spent on a BBL SkinTyte treatment will solely be based on the area being treated. Treatments are done to the neck and face typically lasts for 30 minutes but it may be longer for bigger areas.

Yes. BBL SkinTyte deeply heats the skin to improves skin laxity and stimulate collagen growth. This treatment is especially successful in areas such as the chin and submental, upper arms, and abdomen.

According to the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the average cost of a SkinTyte treatment is $1,100. However, this is a very rough estimate, and patients can expect to pay anything between $400 and $2,500 for their treatment.

BBL SkinTyte results are best when done in a series of 5 treatments approximately 3-4 weeks apart. Visible results may not be seen until after the second or third treatment. The full extent of improvement may take up to four months to see.

PROCEDURE PREP

Pre-Treatment Instructions

Although Retin-A may be used to condition skin prior to any light-based treatments, it should be stopped five days prior to the procedure itself and resumed as soon as skin sensitivity resolves after treatment.

Avoid sun exposure to treatment area for 14 days prior to treatment. You should also avoid self-tanning products during this time. Always use a sunscreen with SPF 30 with UVA and UVB or greater when out in the sun.

If you have a previous history of cold sores, please make sure that you have notified our staff at Skincredible to have a prescription for Valtrex written.
Begin taking Valtrex one day prior to treatment if instructed by your BBL SkinTyte professional. Please have the prescriptions given to you by the medical practitioner filled prior to your treatment.

BBL SKINTYTE SKIN TREATMENT
AFTERCARE

Patient response can vary after a SkinTyte treatment. Erythema (redness) is usually experienced within a few minutes after the completion of the procedure. A slight sunburn sensation in and around the area treated is also normal and expected. These reactions tend to subside within 1-4 hours after the treatment.

The treated area must be treated with care. BE GENTLE! Do not scratch or pick at your skin.

Until sensitivity has completely subsided, avoid all of the following:

  • Use of scented lotions or soaps, exfoliant creams (Retin-A, glycolic/salicylic and alpha- hydroxy acids), acne creams or gels, loofa sponges and aggressive scrubbing.
  • Hot or cold water – wash with tepid water
  • Shaving
  • Swimming pools and spas with multiple chemicals/chlorine and severe temperature changes
  • Activities that cause excessive perspiration
  • A cold compress or an ice pack can be used to provide comfort if the treated area is especially warm. This is rarely needed but if so, usually within the first 4 hours after the treatment.
  • Makeup can be applied immediately after treatment as long as skin is intact and there are no signs of blistering.
  • Vitamin E or Aloe Vera applied to the treatment area may provide a soothing effect.
  • Post treatment discomfort is typically minimal but if the area is very uncomfortable, oral pain relievers; i.e. Extra Strength Tylenol or Advil may be used.
  • If the skin is broken or a blister appears, apply an antibiotic ointment and contact the office immediately. Keep the affected area moist and avoid direct sunlight.
  • Strictly avoid any sun exposure to the treated area for a minimum of 7 days after the procedure. The treated area is more prone to sunburn and pigmentation change. Keep the area covered and use a sun block with a protection factor of 30+, reapplying the sun block every two hours. Delayed blistering secondary to sun exposure has been noted up to 72 hours post treatment.
  • Subsequent treatments are based upon your provider’s recommendation and are typically 2-4 weeks apart. The number of treatments needed will depend upon your individual condition and your body’s response to the light.
