The general recommendation is for a facial every three to four weeks or once a month. That’s how long your skin’s life cycle is. After three or four weeks, your skin cells grow back. Facials help this process and assure your skin always glows.

There’s no need – you can show up to your facial treatment with your makeup still on since your esthetician will just remove it all during the cleansing portion of the facial treatment. The cleansing portion of the facial occurs even if you aren’t wearing makeup, so arriving with makeup on won’t take away any time from the treatment.

Do Not shower or steam after a treatment. You’ll undo the benefits of essential oils used in a massage or serums and lotions applied during a facial. Do Not shave before a facial since it will make the skin too sensitive.

The exfoliation that took place during your facial brought the under layers of your skin to the surface, possibly making your skin more sensitive. So, trust the power of the work your facialist did and try to avoid using harsh products at home for 2-3 days after a facial.

The most common side effects of the facial are redness and blotchy skin due to the pressure of exfoliation and extraction. Avoid wearing makeup or using any of the products on your skin during the day or two that follow your face to give your skin time to heal.

What’s more, despite their variety, which can include prescription, deep-cleansing, nourishing, brightening, and anti-aging, most full facials will usually last between only 60 and 90 minutes with a taster or express facials lasting about 30 minutes.

Immediately following a facial, it’s probably best to stay away from your makeup (at least for 24 hours).

Getting a facial once a month is a great supplement to your skincare routine. Just like any part of your skincare regimen, facials are best when they’re done consistently and regularly. Facials allow your skin to look and feel its best! There are numerous benefits of monthly facials, both external and internal.

Facial Treatments are typically some of the most tranquil skin-care treatments out there (yes, even when extractions are involved). What’s more: They can happen to anyone, regardless of skin type.

Why do some people break out directly following a facial? During a facial, skin is well stimulated and much of what’s below the surface is encouraged to come up and out. If extractions are not done well then pores and pimples may have leftover debris that comes to a head in the following days.

A really good facial clears out your pores and tightens your skin. This reduces wrinkles, and often removes them completely, making you look much younger in the process. And if you’re someone who wears a lot of makeup, it’s a good idea to get a facial every so often to help keep your skin and your pores clean.

Some advocates of natural healing suggest replacing the water in your ice cubes with other ingredients, such as aloe vera and green tea. Anecdotal evidence suggests that ice cubes made with these ingredients can fine-tune the facial treatment for specific conditions.

Avoid exposing your skin directly to the sun for at least a week after the facial. Sun exposure can irritate the skin. On the day of your treatment, it might be beneficial to wear a hat to keep the sun off your face. Wear sunscreen daily.

Facials can help with acne breakouts, depending on the kind you have and how severe they are. In general, facials are suitable for mild breakouts rather than severe ones. You can have facials done to remove whiteheads and blackheads.

Currently, two of the best facials for anti-aging are platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy and microneedling. In a microneedling facial, tiny needles penetrate the skin to boost collagen production. The process can be paired with PRP therapy using your own blood — hence its nickname, the “vampire facial.”
