TheJUVÉDERM Fillers Collection is a family of highly effective injectable fillers. They are designed to restore a more youthful appearance by restoring lost volume, smoothing out lines and wrinkles, and addressing additional signs of facial aging.

JUVÉDERM Fillers work by adding volume to the facial tissue through its active ingredient, hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is found in the human body. Hyaluronic acid stimulates the production of the connective tissue that plumps the skin (collagen).

JUVÉDERM Fillers are used for restoring facial contours and improving signs of aging.JUVÉDERM^® is a family of injectable fillers with a base of hyaluronic acid.JUVÉDERM^® is a treatment that focuses on the face, specifically the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth.

ForJUVÉDERM Fillers Training, You Must Provide Documentation That Shows You Are A Licensed Medical Practitioner. Specifically, Only Medical Practitioners Who Hold An MD, DO, DDS, DMD, NP, And Nurses Under The Supervision Of A Physician May Inject At AJUVÉDERM^® Certification Program.

If you’re looking for fillers to combat signs of aging, your mid-20s are often an excellent time to start. Your body starts to lose bone and collagen around age 26. This age is a perfect time to begin maintenance injections. By starting in your mid to late ’20s, you’ll require less product than if you wait until your mid-50s.

The FDA noted that whileJUVÉDERM^® is safe for use, some patients in clinical trials did experience side effects of mild redness, swelling, tenderness, lumpiness, bruising, or itching at the sites of the injections. These side effects were mild and temporary, lasting less than seven days.

Our Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner and Master Level Injector, Tonya C. Tuggle, has had more advanced training in injections than most Injectors. The face is where she spends much of her time every day. In addition to extensive education related to the face, Tonya’s daily in-office experience ensures her proficiency in facial injections and her first-hand knowledge of facial-muscle function.

Although there is a little discomfort, getting fillers injected is less painful than you may think! Your level of comfort definitely comes from the application technique, so it matters who you see.

SomeJUVÉDERM Fillers results are visible immediately. During the next few days, the fillers will begin to settle as the hyaluronic acid binds to your dermal layer. Please keep in mind that fillers can take up to two weeks to fully settle.

To keep the results ofJUVÉDERM^® as desired, you should plan to come in at 12 months for a follow-up appointment to make sure everything still looks as it should. The effects ofJUVÉDERM^® can last up to 18 months, but a year after your first injection is the best time to have another treatment session.

Depending on the fillers used, the results can last anywhere from six months until forever. There are temporary fillers and permanent fillers.JUVÉDERM^® results are not permanent, they are long-lasting. Most clients need only oneJUVÉDERM^® treatment to achieve their desired results but may continue to return for ongoing maintenance.

JUVÉDERM^® is made from hyaluronic acid and is non-permanent. Composed of a sugar molecule that is also produced naturally in the body, it generally dissolves and is excreted by the body in six to nine months.

If fillers are injected into an artery, it can block the blood flow (thrombosis) at that site. Thrombosis can result in ischemia (reduction in oxygen to tissue) or tissue necrosis (cellular death). It could travel to a more distant place (embolism), where it can cause ischemia or necrosis.

It is best to sleep on your back and keep your head elevated for 24 hours after a fillers procedure. Avoid sleeping on your face for a week after fillers treatment.

Avoid opening your mouth wide to prevent incision site separation (opening). Use a small child’s toothbrush to brush your teeth and rinse your mouth after meals.

Wait at least 1-2 days before any heavier kissing is generally advised by practitioners, as the fillers settle and integrate with your lip tissue. Your lips may be swollen or sore initially, so some persons may not be in the mood to kiss or be afraid of kissing.

If you want to apply balm to your lips, only use vaseline 24 hours after your treatment appointment using a clean finger or a cotton bud.

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates (you may eat fruit), spicy foods, and cigarettes 24-48 hours after any fillers treatment.

Avoid vigorous exercise and sun and heat exposure for 3 days after a fillers treatment.

Schedule Your Appointment at an Appropriate Time

Ask Your Doctor About Your Medications

Some medications don’t go well withJUVÉDERM, including aspirin, ibuprofen, blood thinners, muscle relaxers, and allergy meds. If you’re taking these medications, you’ll need to be off of them in the days leading up to and the days following your appointment. Again, please consult your doctor before this or any procedure.

JUVÉDERM^® FILLERS AFTERCARE

Generally, on the day you getJUVÉDERM, it’s a good idea to:

Gently exercise your face
Relax for the rest of the day
Maintain a normal heart rate (no exercise)
Avoid touching, rubbing, or physical pressure on the affected area
Leave the treated area alone (no makeup, etcetera)

Return to Your Normal Activities

JUVÉDERM FILLERS Injections don’t require any recovery time. Therefore, you won’t have to take off work or school. You can resume your usual activities right after.

Wait 24 hours to Exercise

If exercise is part of your daily routine, wait at least 24 hours to work out. Your doctor might suggest waiting for several days.

Physical activity increases blood flow. This could potentially spread the toxin to unintended areas and reduce its effectiveness at the injection site. It also increases the risk of bruising.

However, it’s safe to do facial exercises like:

Frowning
Smiling
Raising your eyebrows

These movements can help the effects ofJUVÉDERM show up sooner.

Go Makeup-Free

If you received aJUVÉDERM injection in your face, take a break from makeup for 24 hours.

Sit Up
