QWO OVERVIEW

QWO® is the first and only FDA-approved injectable to treat moderate-to-severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.

There are three (3) things that cause cellulite’s signature dimples:

  • Over time, your skin thins
  • Fat cells enlarge and push against your skin
  • The fibrous bands under the skin’s surface thicken and cause tension in your skin

How Does QWO Work?

They make QWO from enzymes called collagenases. These enzymes target the structural layers under the skin, where cellulite starts. QWO works by releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen. Endo Aesthetics is still studying exactly how QWO works in moderate-to-severe cellulite.

What QWO Clinical Data Exists?

QWO manufacturer Endo Aesthetics conducted the largest clinical trials in the history of cellulite investigation to help determine the safety and efficacy of QWO. These two identical trials enrolled 845 women in the United States, aged 18 or older, with moderate-to-severe cellulite in the buttocks.

Endo observed reductions in cellulite severity more frequently in the QWO group compared to the placebo group, as measured by the investigator and patient cellulite severity scales.

QWO Availability

QWO became available throughout the United States at aesthetic healthcare practitioners’ offices starting in spring 2021. Please speak with your aesthetic healthcare practitioner for more information.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Do not receive QWO treatment if you are:

  • Allergic to Collagenase or to any of the ingredients in QWO.
  • If you have an active infection in the treatment area.

The Most Common Side Effects Of QWO Cellulite Injectable Include:

  • Injection site bruising
  • Pain
  • Areas of hardness
  • Itching
  • Redness
  • Discoloration
  • Swelling and warmth in the treatment area

QWO Cellulite Injectable May Cause Serious Side Effects, Including:

  • Allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions, including anaphylaxis. Call your healthcare provider right-away if you have hives, trouble breathing, low blood pressure, swollen face, chest pain, dizziness or fainting after receiving QWO.
  • Injection site bruising.

Before Receiving QWO Cellulite Injectable, Tell Your Healthcare Provider If You:

  • Have a bleeding problem.
  • Are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing or plan to nurse. You and your healthcare provider should decide if you will receive QWO or breastfeed.
  • Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the- counter medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements. Especially tell your healthcare provider if you take a medicine that prevents the clotting of your blood (antiplatelet or anticoagulant).

QWO CELLULITE INJECTABLE FAQ

QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable to treat moderate-to-severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.

Enzymes called collagenases target the structural causes under the skin, where cellulite starts. It’s thought that QWO works by releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells, and stimulating the growth of new collagen. We do not yet fully understand it exactly how QWO works in moderate-to-severe cellulite.

No. QWO is an injectable treatment option that is thought to target a primary structural cause of cellulite.

Your medical professional will help you determine if you are an appropriate candidate for QWO.

QWO is currently (Spring 2022) only approved for treatment of moderate-to-severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. Endo Aesthetics is continuing to investigate additional areas of treatment.

Each QWO Cellulite Injectable treatment visit may include up to two treatment areas. We typically give QWO injections will be three weeks apart for a total of three treatment visits.

    Tonya is amazing!! She made me feel so comfortable and really listened to my concerns about my skin. She really cares and knows what she is doing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!! I was concerned my first appointment but I just had my third and I can say it’s so worth it!!! Botox has been an incredible experience and I’m so happy to have tried it, I’m so much happier with my appearance and it looks incredibly natural. I’ve included before and after photos, neither photo is filtered or edited, you can see how makeup would collect in my forehead, and how the after it’s smooth and looks so lovely. It doesn’t feel weird or like I can’t move my muscles at all, it feels super natural. One of my biggest concerns was that I wouldn’t be able to emote with Botox but that’s just not true at all.     The office staff is super accommodating and helpful, and Dr. Tuggle and Tonya Tuggle are both wonderful at what they do. I have had multiple procedures/treatments here over the years and highly recommend them. I never feel uncomfortable or judged, which is huge when deciding on cosmetic procedures. QWO CELLULITE INJECTABLE PROCEDURE PREP

2 WEEKS BEFORE PROCEDURE

  • Avoid consuming alcohol and/or smoking 2-days before your treatment and 2-days post-treatment.
  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood-thinning medications 10-14 days prior and 3-4 days post-treatment.
  • Avoid medications such as aspirin and other NSAIDS, Vitamin E, Fish oil, Gingko Biloba, Ginseng, and St. John’s Wart as they can increase the chance of bruising.
  • Consider taking Arnica tablets 1 week prior to injections to prevent bruising. You can find Arnica at any health food store. We have Arnica available at ENIC.
  • Days leading up to the procedure, be more aware of areas that bother you. This will assist us in marking you.

DAY OF YOUR PROCEDURE:

  • Avoid shaving, laser hair removal, electrolysis, waxing threading, and use of depilatory creams the day of your procedure
  • Do not apply creams or lotions to the area being treated.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing.
  • We prefer thong underwear if treating the buttocks.

PROCEDURE:

  • Your procedure will last approximately 30 minutes depending on the areas treated.
  • You are welcome to bring entertainment: phone, music player, tablet, and/or earphones to listen to during the procedure.
  • You may drive to and from our center.

QWO CELLULITE INJECTABLE AFTERCARE

RECUPERATION + HEALING:

You may or may not experience the following conditions in and/or around the QWO treatment areas:

  • Severe bruising
  • Areas of firmness or hardness under the skin
  • Swelling (generalized redness) surrounding the treatment area
  • Mild bleeding
  • Numbness, tingling, or sensitivity changes
  • Tenderness and pain
  • Itching

Most patients will experience severe bruising at and surrounding the QWO treated area. Bruising should resolve 14-30 days post-treatment.

AVOID:

  • Shaving your legs for 4-days post-treatment.
  • Tanning or prolonged exposure for 2 weeks.
  • Showering until 24 hours after your Qwo injections.
  • Baths or sitting in stagnant water for 7 days.

CONTACT OUR OFFICE IF YOU EXPERIENCE:

  • Excessive bleeding from the QWO treatment site
  • Fever greater than 100 degrees
  • Any side effect or unusual symptom of concern

FOLLOW UP:

  • 3-4 weeks after each QWO treatment
